Fighting Words Friday: Do Justice, Love Kindness, Walk Humbly

6.26.FWF_Square.jpg

He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

-Micah 6:8

I love the simplicity of this verse. It’s clear. It’s so evident that justice matters to God, and that He wants us to be about doing the work of justice. Loving and advocating and serving those who are pushed to the edges of society, those who are treated unfairly, those who are in need. This has been a beautiful and clear directive for me in this season. It’s one of those verses I’ve always loved, but maybe haven’t taken very seriously. I repent of that, and turn to continue to be about doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly forward in this journey to become more like Jesus.
