Fighting Words Friday: Do Not Worry About Tomorrow

FWF-10-2-2020.png

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

—Matthew 6:34

Today has enough trouble of its own. This has been a hard and troublesome year for all of us, and this verse was a gentle reminder to stay present in each day, to breathe through each troublesome moment I encounter, and to invite the presence of Love into each place. I’ve never made myself feel better by worrying about something. Today I am going to try dropping off both today and tomorrow's worries at the feet of Jesus. I’m going to breathe in His love and let go of the burdens I carry, knowing that Jesus is our great load-bearing bridge from worry to peace. Lord, help me stay present in each day and lean on You every time I encounter trouble or anxiety of any kind.
