“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
- Psalm 46:10
I’m chasing around 3 precious kiddos these days, one of whom JUST learned to crawl, so literally being STILL is not really in the cards for me much right now. I try to wake up early, but my kids get up early too, and I’ll take time at night when I can to be still and quiet my soul.
It’s so important for me to do that, to carve out the time to be still, to listen, to steep my soul in the truth that I so easily forget, but I’ll tell you what else has been important for me... learning to still my soul even in the midst of the chaos. THAT has been a skill that has taken much practice, but that has brought me much peace.
I love that this verse doesn’t give you a specific set of circumstances that you need in order to be still, it just says “be still”, and I’m so grateful to be learning that I can take a deep breath, still my soul, and lean into the beauty and love that God has for me in any moment of the day... especially during the stressful moments.
Lord, would you help me to carve out time to still my soul, but on the days when I can’t, would you continue to show me how to “be still” and KNOW who you are in every moment of every day.
