“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
-John 10:10
I love this verse. I have always loved it. When I was much younger, I used to think that this verse was simply a promise for a wonderful life FULL of good things, and while I have certainly experienced a wonderful life full of so many gifts from God, I don’t think that is what Jesus means here.
As I have walked through a good deal of sorrow and loss, what I have encountered even in those hard, dark places, is the fullness of God’s love and comfort and mercy. So thankful today that God comes to give us life to the full... the fullness of Himself in the full scope of all we experience in this life.
So thankful we have a love that will not let us go whether we are in the heights of our joy or the depths of our sorrow, and Lord, help me remember to lean into the fullness of all that You are in both moments of gladness and grief.
