“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
- Colossians 3:15
This verse reminds me that I have a choice. I can choose to let fear and worry rule in my heart. I often do, and it never brings comfort or hope, but I can also choose to let peace rule in my heart. I can do this on days that are completely full of sorrow, loss, and hardship as well because of who Christ is. He has entered into the grave, into every broken place that we’ll ever encounter, and He has overcome the darkness and hopelessness of those places because He walked out of the grave. We can look at Christ and let peace rule because we know the end of the story is never death, sorrow, or hopelessness. We can always be thankful because we have a living hope in Christ, and my prayer today is that I would let peace and gratitude continually rule in my heart so that I can be a person of peace wherever I go and whatever I encounter.
