Fighting Words Friday: Living Water

“ When I said, ‘My foot is slipping,” your love, O Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.”.jpeg

“...if you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink’, you would ask Him , and He would give you living water.”

- John 4:10

I love this encounter Jesus has with the Samaritan woman at the well. I love that Jesus continually SEES people. I love that in a culture where women were not seen or valued much at all, Jesus takes the time to interact with this woman and her story. And not only that, He reveals to her the beautiful truth of what He came to do... to give us living water, to satisfy our weary and thirsty souls with His love.

It’s International Women’s Day, and I’m celebrating the beauty and strength in women, and that Jesus really saw and engaged with women in a radical way during His time here. I’m so thankful we are all SEEN and KNOWN and LOVED by the God who made us. Lord, would you continue to help us behold you and believe you, so that we can be filled up to the measure with the living water only you can give us.
