Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
—Colossians 3:15
We are in the wake of Christmas... lots of time with family, lots of memories made, and lots of cardboard boxes and leftovers and toys scattered all over our house. We are taking things slow and easy here, and I have to admit that it takes some work for me to be slow & still in the middle of such mess. And it is in the middle of the small domestic messes, but also in the big life messes, that I want the peace of Christ to rule in my heart.
I have known peace in some circumstances in which it made no sense to have peace at all, and it is powerful and profound. I want peace to mark my life, because no matter what mess I have made or what mess has been dumped on me, I know that I am not alone and that because of what Jesus did on the cross... our messes are NEVER the end of the story when we invite Jesus into them.
So grateful for this truth today. Lord, may your peace rule in my heart today!
