“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.” -Isaiah 26: 3-4
Y’all, I feel like my mind is anything but steadfast a lot of days. I often feel distracted and scattered, moving ungracefully from one thought to another. It is SO easy to get distracted for me, and so I come to these words from Isaiah, and I’m reminded that generally when I am feeling scattered and split in every direction, it’s because I’m putting my trust and my hope in things that will never satisfy or measure up to the Lord and His love for me.
So in the midst of this busy season with all the “to do” lists and shopping lists and the advertisements of things we “need” or how to give the “perfect gift”, may I remember that He gives perfect peace to those who trust in Him. May I rest in Him before I go about my doing, and find sure footing and perfect peace on the Rock of Salvation.
Thank You that even when I am not steadfast, YOU always are, and you stand at the ready to offer peace to those who will simply trust You and collapse in Your wonderfully capable arms.
